The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is implementing a 10-year plan to stabilize its finances after significant losses, but the plan is facing challenges. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy acknowledged initial difficulties, especially in service quality, as the USPS modernizes its operations, including consolidating locations and raising prices. Despite an increase in revenue, overall expenses have soared due to inflation and rising labor costs, leading to a projected loss of about $6.3 billion for the current fiscal year. Some lawmakers are requesting a pause on changes to the processing network due to concerns over declining service quality in the affected areas.
