Brazil's Supreme Court has upheld a ban on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) after it failed to appoint a legal representative in the country. The ban stems from a feud between Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes and X's owner Elon Musk, amid concerns over disinformation spread via the platform. The ruling has prompted major tech companies like Apple and Google to remove X from their app stores. With X's access blocked, many Brazilians are shifting to the microblogging platform Bluesky, which recently saw a surge of new users, including followers from President Lula's social media outreach.
