Boar's Head discontinues product, closes facility linked to listeria outbreak 'indefinitely'

Boar's Head has indefinitely closed its Virginia manufacturing plant linked to a significant listeria outbreak, along with permanently discontinuing its liverwurst product. The outbreak has caused 57 infections across 18 states and resulted in nine deaths. Boar's Head is set to implement enhanced food safety measures and has appointed a new chief food safety officer. This situation marks the largest listeria outbreak since 2011, according to the CDC.
