European Union delays introduction of new border check system

Countries including Germany, France, and the Netherlands cited unpreparedness of their border computer systems. The EU Home Affairs Commissioner stated there is no new timetable but plans for a phased introduction. This system is designed to digitally link travel documents to biometric data, streamlining the entry process at EU borders.
