DP World will proceed with a £1 billion investment to expand the London Gateway port in Essex despite controversy sparked by Transport Secretary Louise Haigh's comments labeling P&O Ferries as a 'rogue operator'. The comments raised concerns about the investment being shelved, but Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds reassured that the expansion will go ahead. Reynolds emphasized that the government has engaged in constructive discussions with DP World, which will attend the upcoming International Investment Summit aiming to attract significant investment into the UK.
