An E. coli outbreak linked to McDonald's Quarter Pounder hamburgers has killed one person and sickened nearly 50 others. Officials believe that contaminated onions served on the burgers are the likely source, prompting Taylor Farms, the supplier, to recall several onion products. While preliminary investigations suggest the onions are the source, health officials have not ruled out the possibility that the beef patties may also be contaminated.
