An E. coli outbreak linked to raw onions in McDonald's Quarter Pounder hamburgers has affected 75 people across 13 states, with at least one death reported and multiple hospitalizations. The CDC indicated that the source of contamination is likely the slivered onions from supplier Taylor Farms, which has issued a recall. McDonald's has temporarily halted the sale of Quarter Pounders in several states as a precaution, while other fast-food chains have also removed onions from their menu items.
