Asda to cut 475 jobs and reduce hybrid working

Published On Nov 6, 2024, 7:34 AM

Asda has announced it will cut 475 jobs at its head office locations in Leeds and Leicestershire due to a restructure aimed at simplifying operations amidst challenging market conditions. This move represents less than 10% of the head office workforce. Additionally, the company will implement a mandatory office attendance policy requiring staff to work in-office at least three days a week starting January 2025. This decision follows a reported decrease in total revenues for the company, a shift in management with TDR Capital increasing its stake, and indicates a strategic pivot for Asda's future operations.
