The managing director of Harrods, Michael Ward, has publicly apologized for the sexual abuse allegations against the late owner, Mohamed Al Fayed. Following a BBC documentary presenting numerous allegations of sexual abuse and rape by Al Fayed, Harrods is currently settling claims from victims while an internal review by its new owners, the Qatar Investment Authority, is ongoing. Ward states he was unaware of any abuse during his time working alongside Al Fayed, despite the existence of rumors in the public domain. The number of compensation claims against Harrods has increased significantly, and further legal claims are anticipated as lawyers for victims prepare additional lawsuits against both the Al Fayed estate and Harrods.
