Lidl: Men buy more from the middle aisle, boss reveals

Published On Nov 20, 2024, 2:22 AM

Lidl UK has reported a return to profitability with a pre-tax profit of £43 million and a 16.9% increase in sales to nearly £11 billion for the year to February 2024. The supermarket is experiencing strong interest from male shoppers who are frequenting the 'middle aisle' to buy unconventional items. Despite rising costs from recent budget measures that may impact profit margins and lead to potential job losses, Lidl plans to continue its expansion, with 18 new stores opening soon and an additional 40 in the next financial year.
