Feds seize more than $18M in phony Gibson guitars: ‘Emotional and personal’

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has seized over $18 million worth of counterfeit Gibson guitars in an operation at the Port of Los Angeles. The seizure, which is the largest of its kind in history, involved more than 3,000 fake guitars shipped from Asia. Gibson, which only manufactures its guitars in the U.S., emphasized the negative impact of counterfeit goods on legitimate businesses and consumer trust.
