General Motors (GM) has announced that it will discontinue its self-driving taxi project under its Cruise subsidiary, which has been a costly venture for the company. Instead, GM plans to focus on developing fully autonomous vehicles intended for personal use. This decision comes after challenges faced by the self-driving taxi service, including a serious incident involving a pedestrian. GM is shifting its strategy while competitors like Waymo and Tesla continue to advance their autonomous driving services.
