Services will close over National Insurance rise, Mencap tells BBC

Mencap, a charity supporting people with learning disabilities, warns it may have to cut at least 60 of its services due to rising National Insurance costs and an increase in the national minimum wage. The charity estimates these changes could cost them an additional £18 million annually. Local authorities, which fund most social care, are also struggling under financial pressures, leading to fears of widespread service reductions across the social care sector. The government has announced additional funding, but many believe it's insufficient to cover the rising costs.
