New York Times and Tech Guild Reach Deal

The Times Tech Guild, representing over 600 tech workers at The New York Times, has reached a tentative contract agreement after more than two years of negotiations. The proposed three-year contract includes wage increases up to 8.25%, job security protections, extra pay for on-call work, and flexible work schedules. Union members are set to vote on ratification on December 19. If approved, it will mark the guild's first contract, potentially strengthening job protections for tech workers in the media industry.
