One year after Boeing's door plug crisis, more work is needed: FAA

The FAA Administrator Mike Whitaker stated that Boeing still needs to fundamentally shift its culture towards prioritizing safety and quality over profits. Although various safety protocols have been implemented after a significant incident involving door plug failures on the 737 MAX, more improvements and a comprehensive systemic change are required. The FAA has increased oversight, including more inspectors and production caps, but it will take continuous and committed efforts from Boeing to ensure safety and quality standards are upheld. Whitaker emphasized ongoing scrutiny and monitoring of Boeing’s operations and the importance of a whistleblower program.
