Ford Mustang Mach-E sales surpass traditional Mustang
Published On Jan 6, 2025, 3:32 PM
In 2024, sales of Ford's Mustang Mach-E electric vehicle surpassed those of the traditional Ford Mustang, with Mach-E sales rising nearly 27% to 51,745 units, compared to 44,003 traditional Mustangs sold, marking a 9.5% decline. This increase in Mach-E sales followed Ford's overall strong performance in the electric vehicle (EV) market, where it sold 285,291 electrified vehicles, up 38% from the previous year. The growth was partly attributed to the Ford Power Promise program, providing perks for EV buyers. Ford is working to reduce production costs after previously forecasting a $5 billion loss in its EV segment in 2024.

The significant surge in the sales of Ford's Mustang Mach-E indicates a strong market acceptance of electric vehicles, particularly in the context of declining sales for traditional gas-powered vehicles. Ford's strategic focus on EV sales through initiatives like the Ford Power Promise is likely to bolster its growth in the EV sector. This trend suggests confidence in the future of Ford's electrical offerings, positioning the company favorably against competitors in the burgeoning EV market.
