Spain plans 100% tax for homes bought by non-EU residents

Spain is proposing a new tax of up to 100% on homes purchased by non-residents from outside the EU. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez stated that this measure is part of broader efforts to address the country's housing crisis by ensuring available homes are primarily for residents rather than for investment by foreign buyers. The proposal is still in the study phase, and other accompanying measures include tax exemptions for landlords providing affordable housing and tighter regulations on tourist rentals.
