Thames Water appeals against limit on bill rises for customers

Thames Water, the UK's largest utility provider, is appealing against a regulator-imposed cap limiting bill increases to 35% over five years. The company, facing severe financial issues and a pending £3 billion rescue, argues that higher charges are necessary to invest in water infrastructure and claims this would benefit customers and the environment. Although Thames Water is the first to challenge the bill cap, other water companies have opted not to lodge similar appeals.
