Average NI house price reaches 17-year high during 2024
Published On Feb 19, 2025, 4:52 AM
The average house price in Northern Ireland reached a 17-year high, climbing by 9% from around £168,000 to over £183,000 by the end of 2024. This increase is attributed to a shortage of new housing supply, partly due to restrictions on new water connections affecting the construction of approximately 19,000 homes. Overall sales increased slightly to over 23,000 homes during the year.

The increase in house prices in Northern Ireland indicates a stronger real estate market, particularly influenced by supply constraints. This environment could encourage investments in companies related to construction and real estate development as demand continues to outpace supply.
