Price of first-class stamp to rise to £1.70

Royal Mail has announced that the price of a first-class stamp will increase to £1.70, up by 5p, effective April 7. The price of a second-class stamp will also rise to 87p. This increase reflects the challenges Royal Mail faces, including a significant drop in letter volumes. Citizens Advice criticized the price hikes, arguing they unfairly burden consumers amid proposed delivery changes that could further limit service.
