Corruption review finds 'red flags' in more than 130 Covid contracts

Transparency International UK has released a report outlining serious concerns about £15.3 billion worth of contracts awarded by the UK Conservative government during the Covid pandemic. The charity flagged 135 contracts as 'high-risk' due to signs of potential corruption, including links to firms with political connections and contracts awarded without competition. It found that one-third of contracts lacked standard bidding safeguards, which may have led to significant financial losses for the public sector.
