Customers 'forced' to take part in South West Water trial

Published On Sep 24, 2024, 1:05 AM

South West Water (SWW) in Torquay has launched a compulsory trial aimed at modifying water tariffs to encourage reduced usage, particularly during summer months when water demand is higher. Customers participating in the trial will pay less for water during the winter (October to March) but will see price increases during the summer (April to September). This change has sparked controversy among residents who feel compelled to take part in a trial without an option to opt out, with some arguing that they will end up paying more compared to their neighbors.
