No E. Coli Found in Samples of McDonald’s Beef Patties, Officials Say

McDonald's has confirmed that tests have ruled out their Quarter Pounder beef patties as the source of a recent E. coli outbreak that affected 75 individuals and resulted in one fatality. The company will reinstate the Quarter Pounder on their menu but will avoid using raw slivered onions, identified by health officials as the likely source of contamination. While the beef patties from their suppliers tested negative for E. coli, McDonald's has ceased purchasing onions from a specific supplier in Colorado linked to the issue. As a result of the outbreak and precautionary measures, McDonald's stock has declined by about 7% recently.
