A recent dockworkers' strike that began on October 1, 2024, has raised concerns over disruptions at U.S. ports, particularly affecting cargo operations. However, the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) has committed to continuing support for passenger cruise vessels during this strike, in order to avoid inconveniencing vacationers. Ports like Port Everglades and Port Miami remain unaffected for cruise operations. JPMorgan estimates that the economic impact of the strike could be significant, costing up to $4.5 billion per day.
