The House Financial Services Committee is preparing to question all five members of the SEC, including Chairman Gary Gensler, in a hearing to address regulatory approaches, especially in cryptocurrency and climate disclosures. This marks the first time since 2019 that the entire commission will testify together. Commissioner Mark Uyeda has expressed his criticism of Gensler's perceived progressive regulatory agenda, advocating for a more constructive, business-friendly regulatory approach. Uyeda and fellow Republicans plan to challenge Gensler, especially on how the SEC regulates the burgeoning cryptocurrency sector and their stance on private funds and climate regulations.
