The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) is investigating a £112 million hotel and conference center project in Birmingham funded by Unite the Union, which has seen a significant drop in the property’s valuation to just £29 million. An inquiry led by a KC found discrepancies including a missing £14 million. Unite’s current general secretary, Sharon Graham, is committed to uncovering any financial misconduct tied to the project, which was promoted as a sound investment by her predecessor. The SFO has not confirmed the ongoing investigation's specifics.
