Tesla Chargers Are Still Closed to Most Electric Cars

Tesla's Supercharger network, which has nearly 30,000 fast-charging plugs across the U.S. and Canada, is still largely inaccessible to non-Tesla electric vehicle (EV) owners despite plans to open it up. The delay is attributed to software issues and hardware shortages. While Tesla is ramping up production of adapters needed for other EVs to use the chargers, the timeline for widespread access remains unclear. The slow progress has sparked speculation that Musk might be reconsidering the decision to share the network, possibly due to concerns about competition and declining sales for Tesla.
