Walmart Pulls Back on D.E.I. Initiatives Amid Conservative Pressure

Walmart is making significant changes to its diversity, equity, and inclusion (D.E.I.) initiatives, retracting from commitments made in the wake of the protests after George Floyd's death. The company will cease using the term D.E.I. and will not renew its Center for Racial Equity. Additionally, it will stop sharing diversity data with the Human Rights Campaign and will restrict the sale of certain L.G.B.T.Q. themed items. This shift appears to be in response to pressure from conservative groups.
