Elaine Wynn, a prominent casino mogul and art collector, is spearheading the creation of a new art museum in Las Vegas, in collaboration with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The Las Vegas City Council has approved the lease of 1.5 acres of land for just $1 to facilitate this project, which will be a 90,000-square-foot facility with an estimated cost of $150 million, expected to open in 2028. The museum is seen as a significant cultural addition to Las Vegas, which currently lacks a major art museum despite being a large city.
